Katy Perry (born Katheryn Hudson on October 25, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. She is most notable for her singles, "Ur So Gay", released in 2007, and the Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit, "I Kissed a Girl", which was released in 2008, by Capitol Records.
I Kissed a Girl" is the second single from Katy Perry's album One of the Boys produced by Dr. Luke. Perry says it is "about the magical beauty of a woman."
Katy sings �I kissed a girl and I liked it, the taste of her cherry chapstick, I kissed a girl just to try it, I hope my boyfriend don�t mind it� while women in the background dancing seductively.
No doubt it�s a catchy tune and Perry has a great voice, it will be interesting to see what becomes of her. The song has come under fire from some groups because they claim it promotes promiscuity.
But that hasn�t stopped it�s popularity, as it has just recently gone to number 1 on the US Billboard Charts, surpassing Coldplay�s �Violet Hill.�
While Katy is currently in a serious relationship with a man, one might questions where she is going with all of these gender-bender and gay related titles!
